Goðafoss is a stunning waterfall located in northern Iceland, near the town of Akureyri. Known as the "Waterfall of the Gods", it has a width of 30 meters (98 feet) and a drop of about 12 meters (39 feet). Goðafoss is famous for its crescent-shaped cascade, which creates a breathtaking sight. The waterfall holds historical significance, as it is said that in the year 1000 AD, the lawspeaker Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði threw pagan idols into the falls when Iceland adopted Christianity.
